Little Britain is likely 'to come back in some form' confirms Matt Lucas

Little Britain could be making a comeback soon.

The comedy series starring and written by Matt Lucas and David Walliams began as a radio show in 2000 and became a television show in 2003.

And it could be about to make a revival as Matt has confirmed reports he and David had discussions with Netflix about a revival.

He told The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 2: "It might happen. We had a conversation with them a while ago so the seed was planted in our heads.

"We’d love to bring it back in some way at some point.

"We're both quite busy boys but we're speaking often (to each other) and one idea was to maybe do a stage show of it again…"

He added: "We don't know. It may come back. I think it will come back in some form.

"We're just still figuring out what that will be."

It comes after Matt announced her would be replacing Sandi Toksvig as host of The Great British Bake Off.

The comedian will replace Sandi after she announced in January she would be leaving the show after the Stand Up For Cancer celebrity specials - which are currently airing - in order to focus on other work commitments.

Talking about his appointment, Matt said: "I'm chuffed to bits to be joining the most delicious show on television.

"I can't wait to break bread with Noel, Prue and Paul, and meet the brilliant bakers.

"And bearing in mind my love of cake, I've already ordered some much larger trousers in anticipation. See you in the tent."
