Little boy with Down's Syndrome goes viral as he tries to resist eating popcorn in adorable Facebook temptation challenge

A little boy with Down's Syndrome has gone viral for his adorable attempt at completing the Facebook Temptation Challenge.

The online craze involves parents putting a plate of tasty treats in front of their kids and asking them to resist the urge to tuck into it while they're out of the room.

And Lucas Evans from Bridgend 's agonizing efforts were caught on camera by his mum and dad Kellie and Dominic.

The pair left the eight-year-old alone with a big bowl of fresh popcorn - his favourite snack - and told him he couldn't tuck in until they'd returned.

And the resulting one minute and 44 seconds of footage has so far been viewed nearly 1.7million times online.

"We initially didn't think he was going to make it," said mum-of-four Kellie, 41, who's a full time carer to Lucas and his 10-year-old sibling Alexander, who has cerebral palsy.

"Popcorn is his absolute favourite thing, so we weren't confident.

"Also, we'd already watched quite a few Temptation Challenges on Facebook involving other kids, both with and without Down's Syndrome, and there were a lot of mixed results - some tucked in before their parents had even left the room, " she laughed.

"So we're very proud that Lucas managed to hold out. Although you can see him as one point willing his dad to come back so he could grab a handful."

And, as a reward for his will power Lucas has been sent a huge box of popcorn to enjoy by Essex popcorn firm Retrocorn, who specialise in unusual flavours such as Cola Cube, Rhubarb and Custard and Strawberries and Cream.

"There were lots of weird and wonderful choices - it'll take him weeks to get through that lot," added Kellie.

And if anyone's wondering why Lucas looks familiar its because he's also an aspiring model, having appeared on posters, adverts, and newspapers across the world as the face of Marks & Spencer's 2018 Back To School campaign and, more recently, clothing chain Joules.

He also recently popped up on The One Show sofa with his sister, Isabella, who learned to sign to help her communicate with Lucas and brother Alexander.

An online sensation with more than 200,000 social media followers, her YouTube channel helps raise the awareness of sign language in the wider community.
