Little boy battling brain cancer was granted 'wish of a lifetime' - he's now raising money so other kids can see their dreams come true

A five-year-old boy battling brain cancer has been drawing rainbows to raise money for charity.

Luca Feno-McBride, from Ashton-under-Lyne, Tameside, was granted the 'wish of a lifetime' to go to Disney World Florida by the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

The amazing youngster now wants to raise money in the hope that more children will have their wishes granted.

Luca, who lives with his mum Carla and little brother Rocco, was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumour last year.

His parents took him to Tameside Hospital after noticing he was 'a little off balance'.

Doctors found a tumour on his brain and immediately operated to remove what they could.

The family travelled to Germany in June for Luca to have proton-beam therapy, before returning home to start a nine-month course of chemotherapy.

Luca's mum applied for a wish for him from the Make-A-Wish charity, which grants wishes to children with critical illnesses, to try and raise his spirits.

A massive Toy Story and Disney fan, the youngster was delighted when the charity granted him the 'wish of a lifetime' to go to Disney World Florida in November.

The wish might not go ahead as planned due to the coronavirus pandemic, but the family still wants to thank the charity and help raise money so other children's wishes can be made a reality.

Luca's mum Carla Feno said: "I have been fundraising for the charity ever since we were granted our wish.

"I had a skydive booked for April which had to be postponed.

"The charity has lost a lot of fundraising money due to COVID-19 so we wanted to help raise money for the 2,000 poorly children who are waiting for wishes."

Little Luca then came up with the idea of drawing rainbows to raise money for the charity.

In return for a drawing, he asked people to donate money to the fundraiser.

This then led to Luca setting up his 'rainbow shop' at home.

"He has done really well", mum Carla said.

"He is mad on rainbows anyway and loves drawing them.

"After he set up his little rainbow shop I put it on my Facebook page and lots of people have been ordering the rainbow goodies.

"I spend a lot of time on a children's cancer ward and it's not nice, it's just not fair.

"So we wanted to help raise money to give children a wish or something to look forward to."

So far, Luca and his family have raised over £5,700 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
