Lit petrol bomb thrown at cars on Thorntonhall street for second time this year

A lit petrol bomb was thrown at parked cars on a driveway in Thorntonhall .

The explosive was tossed over a fence onto a driveway towards the vehicles on Baroness Drive in the early hours of Sunday morning.

A brick was also thrown, causing damage to the back window of one of the cars.

Two men were seen getting out of a dark coloured hatchback at around the time of the attack.

This is the second incident of a similar nature to happen on this street.

In March a Porsche SUV was set ablaze.

Cops are treating the incident as wilful fire raising.

Detective Constable Chris McLaughlin, of Cambuslang CID, said: “Thankfully no extensive damage was caused. This was a reckless act which could have caused significantly more harm and will not be tolerated.

“Two men were seen getting out of a dark coloured hatchback. I am appealing to anyone who may have seen something suspicious in the area, or who has dash-cam or CCTV footage of people or vehicles to contact us immediately.

“If you have information please call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 1409 of Sunday 27 October, or contact the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
