Listen to the Moon by Michael Morpurgo is a stunning book with two different stories mixed together in the time of World War II. It starts off with a 12 year old boy called Alfie who finds a little girl on an abandoned island in the Isles of Scilly. The only word she could say was Lucy so that was what she was called by residents of the Isles. Who is she? What is she? How did she get there? Why can't she speak? It all remains a mystery to those of the Isles whilst the book slowly explains Lucy's sad story.
It's a touching story of friendship and bonding. At one point I almost cried! This is one of my favourite books of all time. It's so amazing I can't keep track of how many times I have read it! By far it's one of my favourite stories from Michael Morpurgo! I recommend this book to everyone!
