Listen to Patrick Mahomes’ stirring sideline speech before game-winning drive

The Lions fell from the ranks of the NFL’s undefeated teams over the weekend, but Detroit pushed Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs to the limit over four quarters at Ford Field.

Mahomes and the Chiefs took possession of the ball down 30-27 with 2:26 left to play, and the reigning NFL MVP executed a 79-yard, 13-play touchdown drive to take the lead and win on the road. Prior to the drive, Mahomes rallied his teammates on the sideline and calmly delivered an epic speech.

“We do not have to do anything else other than being ourselves. I truly believe that. If we just be ourselves and trust in each other, we will go down there, we can put points up, we can do what we do.

Don’t try to go out there and do everything for yourself. Believe in your teammate. Believe in each other. And when we get these opportunities, we’ll go down and find a way to win the game. Let’s do it right here. Let’s go.”

According to ESPN’s win probabilities, which may or (definitely) may not be accurate, the Chiefs were down to a 0.1 percent chance to win the game in the final minutes, but Mahomes found a way.
