LISTEN: Lonzo Ball, Lance Stephenson drop new song ‘Swerve’

It appears Lonzo Ball found a place to spend some of his time away from the court in recent weeks. Ball and Lance Stephenson dropped a new song titled ‘Swerve’ heading into the All-Star weekend. And, unlike some of Ball’s recent works, it’s a surprisingly good song.

The song is based, more or less, on swerving other girls for the ones both Stephenson and Ball have now. While the beat is nice, Ball’s flow, one of his best attributes as a music artist, is highlighted in this song.

Unlike his recent song with manager DMo titled ‘Geturmerch,’ this song is much better with strong verses from Stephenson and Ball both.

Ball and Stephenson had previously talked about being in the studio alongside JaVale McGee, who has a history of producing music. While McGee isn’t listed in this song, the trio has hinted at other projects in the future.

The song choice is also an interesting one for Ball, who has had some relationship issues with his baby mother, Denise Garcia. While the two last appeared to be back on good terms after Ball posted an Instagram photo of the two of them with daughter Zoey and Garcia appeared courtside with Zoey at a game, the two had issues over the summer. Garcia joked about Ball being a deadbeat dad, creating a firestorm around their relationship. Ball and Garcia worked it out, as shown on Ball in the Family, and it appeared to only be a bump on the road.

Maybe this song is a sign of things continuing to go well in their relationship. Or maybe that’s reading far too much into a simple song.
