LISTEN: E.J. Liddell talks with Jim Rome on his and Ohio State basketball’s improvement this season

The Ohio State basketball team is one of the hottest squads in the country. It has won five-straight, and eight of its last nine in arguably the toughest conference in all of college basketball.

One of the reasons it has done so well since early on in the season until now is because of the improvement of guys like forward E.J. Liddell. In just his second year, Liddell has almost doubled his scoring, increased his rebounding, and expanded his game outside of the paint with a mid-range jumper and the ability to knock down shots beyond the arc. It all makes for a matchup nightmare for opponents.

You have to wonder though if Liddell and his Buckeye teammates saw this coming. How did a team that was decent last year, and just OK at the beginning of the year improve so much that it is now knocking on the door of a potential No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament?

The sophomore from Bellville, Illinois, was asked about that, and about his game personally while appearing on the Jim Rome Show Thursday. In case you missed any of it, we’ve got the complete segment from Liddell’s appearance for your listening pleasure.

Click on the below and listen to Liddell reflect on his improvement, whether or not he saw this team doing the things it has done this season, the news of Liddell being named to the Midseason Naismith Award watchlist, and more.

Liddell and his teammates will be back in action again on Saturday against Indiana. Let the journey continue.
