LISTEN: Celtics icon Kevin Garnett talks his Hall of Fame induction sans Kobe

With his induction into the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame less than a day away after a long, COVID-induced delay, former Boston Celtics champion center Kevin Garnett shared some thoughts with The Athletic’s Shams Charania about being inducted along with peers Tim Duncan and Kobe Bryant.

The latter in particular was a poignant issue for The Big Ticket, who opened up on his enshrinement without his longtime adversary on the court and good friend off of it after Bryant’s tragic accidental death in January of 2020 in a helicopter crash that also took the life of his daughter and several others.

“I feel more than honored to go in with these two, but Kobe not being there is gonna be super emotional for everybody,” he explained.
