The narrative that former Panthers quarterback Cam Newton is lazy or coasts on his physical talent is and always has been garbage. Now that the greatest coach in the history of the sport has given Newton his second chance in the NFL, it’s disproven a lot of the horrible, half-baked takes that seemed to define Newton’s career up until now.

Considering the guy who held the job in New England before Newton, that’s saying something.
With the season less than two weeks away, Newton seems to be the favorite to replace Tom Brady as the Patriots’ starting quarterback. While we’re never crazy about that particular franchise winning anything, we wish Newton nothing but the best.
