A recording of a Scots woman being told she had won £300,000 in a national lottery on the phone has been released.
Sandra Devine, 37, initially thought that she had won £1,000 from The National Lottery Scratchcard but was shocked to find out what the real prize was.
Along with her husband Martin, who had been celebrating his birthday that day in November, Sarah's reaction was to start jumping around their living room in Johnstone.
She said: “At first I thought we’d won £100 and my husband thought it was £1,000. When I found out we had won £300,000 I was so shocked.
“To win on Martin’s birthday was the cherry on top of the cake, it was the best present ever!
“At first, he didn’t believe me, then he started cheering. We just couldn’t believe it - it was surreal!”
It comes after a recent study by The National Lottery described the most likely reactions Scots would have upon winning the lottery.
Jumping up and down came first, with over a third of people surveyed (35%) saying this would probably be their initial reaction.
Next would be kissing their partner (34%), then screaming at the top of their lungs (33%) and bursting into tears (32%).
The poll of almost 500 Scots also revealed that the majority would share their good news, with most choosing their mum to tell.
However, 19% believe that they would be shocked into silence instead.
