With England once again in a national lockdown and many shops, restaurants and other small businesses having to close their doors, Christmas 2020 is going to be like no other.
The news has been a devastating blow for business owners, who have struggled throughout this year due to numerous restrictions put in place to stop of the spread coronavirus.
Businesses across Merseyside struggled in prior weeks after the region was placed under Tier 3 restrictions, which saw some businesses close their doors earlier than the rest of the country.

At the time, hospitality businesses in Knowsley, one of the region's worst hit boroughs, said they were "worried" and fear for the future after further restrictions were placed on the region.
But there are plenty of much-loved independents in Knowsley that residents can support this Christmas - and we want to hear from you.
Many have their own online websites, have launched click and collect services, are offering takeaway food and drink deals or have vouchers to be redeemed at a later date - and we want to let our readers know what they are offering.
From beauty salons and restaurants to independent retail shops and market traders and more, we've created a survey where you can tell us who you are, where you're based and how residents can support your Knowsley-based business this Christmas.
The survey takes just a few minutes to fill in and is also being shared across social media so that we can include as many local business as possible.
We will then compile a list of the businesses getting involved which will feature in another Liverpool ECHO article.
