List of Outfit stores that won't reopen after lockdown including Newport and Swansea

Earlier this week Arcadia, the group in charge of Topshop, Burton, Miss Selfridge, Wallis and Dorothy Perkins, announced it would be permanently closing another 31 UK stores.

The fashion group, owned by Sir Philip Green, collapsed into administration at the start of December after it became the latest company impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.

It is understood the latest set of cuts will result in the closure of 21 out of 70 Outfit stores and the loss of 700 jobs.

Outfit, which was acquired by Arcadia from Sears in 1999, is not a fashion brand itself but sells all of Arcadia's retail brands, including Topshop, Dorothy Perkins, Burton and Wallis.

The move came a day after the deadline for rescue bids set by administrators at Deloitte.

In Wales, non-essential retail has been closed since December 20 under Alert Level 4 restrictions and won't be reviewed again until January 29.

It means many Outfit stores in Wales won't reopen again when lockdown measures are lifted by the Welsh Government.

Those already closed include Newport, which is based in Newport Retail Park, Off Spytty Road, and Llantristant, Talbot Green Retail Park. Both stores shut up shop on December 31.

While the Outfit store in Broughton closed on January 14.

Other Welsh Outfit stores impacted by the latest news include Swansea based in Morfa Park and Llandudno Outfit. Both of which will be closing by January 31.

Llandudno had been offering a click and collect service during lockdown but it's understood the store will fully close from Friday, January 22.

In addition to the 21 Outfit branches, Arcadia has confirmed a further 10 of its stores across the UK will also remain closed but is yet to confirm the brands affected, reports the Express.

There's been no update on other Outfit stores in Wales, however, including Canton, Merthyr Tydfil and Llanelli.
