List of 'essential' shops that can still open during third lockdown

Non-essential businesses have been asked to shut up shop as England enters its third national lockdown - but there are a number of venues that can still remain open.

Under the latest lockdown rules, non-essential retail such as clothing and homeware stores have been ordered to close.

The restrictions were announced on Monday evening after Boris Johnson addressed the nation and introduced the lockdown in an effort to reduce the spread of Covid.

However, some businesses and venues providing essential goods and services are permitted to stay open as long as they follow Covid-19 secure guidelines.

  • market stalls selling essential retail may also stay open
  • businesses providing repair services may stay open, where they primarily offer repair services
