List of Dublin areas with highest and lowest rates of COVID-19 shows most still above national average

Rates of coronavirus continue to fall in Dublin although the latest data shows the vast majority of areas are still above the national average.

Of the 31 Local Electoral Areas (LEA) in the capital, 23 are above the national rate of 148 per 100,000 of population, according to Ireland's COVID-19 Data Hub.

The latest figures record the 14-day incidence rate from March 2 to March 15.

The North Inner City has the highest rate in the capital with 443.3 per 100,000.

It is followed by Ballymun-Finglas (358.1), Artane-Whitehall (353.8), Ongar (337.7) and Blanchardstown-Mulhuddart (320).

All of the best performing areas are on the southside where there are now extremely low rates in some areas.

Stillorgan is the best performing LEA in Dublin with a rate of 65.6 per 100,000 of population.

Dundrum (85.4) and Firhouse-Bohernabreena (93.6) are also in single digits.

The best performing five are rounded out by Killiney-Shankill (115.5) and Dun Laoghaire (120.1).
