List of 13 Covid-19 symptoms from serious to minor including one most people don't know about

The World Health Organization is reminding people of the symptoms of Covid-19 as we head into the depths of winter.

The health body has been constantly updating their social media pages with the latest reminders and updates on the pandemic.

And now they want everyone to be aware of the 13 symptoms of Covid and what to do if you have any of them.

They range from severe to minor and include a lesser know symptom of redness or irritation in a person's eyes.

WHO stress that if you have any of the serious symptoms you should "call your healthcare provider or health facility and seek medical care immediately".

Here's a look at the full list of Covid symptoms that you need to look out for;

Covid-19 symptoms

Serious symptoms

  • Shortness of breath/difficulty breathing
  • Loss of speech or mobility or confusion
  • Chest pain

Most common symptoms

  • Fever
  • Cough
  • Tiredness
  • Loss of taste or smell

Less common symptoms

  • Sore throat
  • Headache
  • Aches and pains
  • Diarrhea
  • A rash on the skin or discolouration of fingers or toes
  • Red or irritated eyes

A spokesperson for the WHO added: "Most people infected with the COVID-19 virus will experience mild to moderate respiratory illness and recover without requiring special treatment.

"Older people, and those with underlying medical problems like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic respiratory disease, and cancer are more likely to develop serious illness.

"The best way to prevent and slow down transmission is to be well informed about the COVID-19 virus, the disease it causes and how it spreads. Protect yourself and others from infection by washing your hands or using an alcohol based rub frequently and not touching your face.

"The COVID-19 virus spreads primarily through droplets of saliva or discharge from the nose when an infected person coughs or sneezes, so it’s important that you also practice respiratory etiquette (for example, by coughing into a flexed elbow)."
