Two people were rushed to hospital this evening following a shooting.
The injured, a man and a woman in their 60s, were taken to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries following the incident at a house in Lismore, Co Waterford today.
Gardai have cordoned off the area and investigations are ongoing.
They added that the shooting involved a legally held firearm.
A Garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí attended an incident that occurred at approximately 5pm in a property in Lismore today, Monday 1st June, involving a legally held firearm.
"A male and a female, both in their 60s, were taken to local hospitals with non life threatening injuries.
"No arrests have been and investigations are ongoing."
