A new tenant is being sought for one of Lisburn's oldest and most prestigious properties.
Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council is seeking expressions of interest from a third party or parties interested in leasing the city's Navigation House.
In February 2020, the local authority acquired the property as part of the Discover Waterways Lisburn project.
The house was built in 1866 as a home for the manager of the Lagan Navigation Company who operated for 110 years until its closure in the early 1950s.
The property lay derelict for a number of years and had to be saved from demolition after planning permission was granted to demolish the house and build housing units in the grounds.
The council recently benefited from a £1 million investment, restoring the house to its former glory. The works also restored the associated stable block and courtyard to create a multi-purpose facility with office space, breakout rooms and workshop spaces.
Alderman Amanda Grehan, Development Committee Chair said: “I am delighted we can offer such a versatile and adaptable space in a prime location.
"I would encourage local businesses and social enterprises across the council area to avail of this opportunity.
"Navigation House, the former residence of the Canal Manager of the Navigation, can deliver innovative initiatives that will be of benefit to local communities.”
