Lisburn Lights up for Christmas 2019 with spectacular street parade

Lisburn city centre was awash with dazzling colours on Thursday evening as the annual light festival kicked off.

The city's streets were packed out as crowds gathered to watch the spectacular parade and welcome Santa in time for the festive season.

A series of new light installations were introduced this year including a multi-coloured Light Tunnel in Lisburn Square , a Christmas Installation in Bow Street Mall, a Spectacular Angel, 10 foot light prisms, new themed Pole Mounts on all the city centre streets and Crossover Fixtures.

The new installations will also be running special light shows at specific times so if you missed last night here's when you can see them:

Light Tunnel Shows, Lisburn Square

Every Night 4.30pm, 5.30pm, 6.30pm, 7.30pm, 8.30pm

Each show lasts approximately 10 minutes.

These light shows will involve flashing lights and loud music, please take necessary precautions.

Enchanting Christmas Tree Shows, Market Square

Every night 4.15pm, 5.15pm, 6.15pm, 7.15pm, 8.15pm

Each show lasts approximately 10 minutes

Christmas Tree will be in place until early January.

A special sensory night has been scheduled for Wednesday 4 December which will offer families the opportunity to view the light attractions with quieter music and fewer lights switched on. There will be a sensory space available in Market Square.

Lisburn Light Festival will last until the end of January to gain as much impact as possible, with a Chinese New Year celebration planned to close the festival.
