Lisburn Castlereagh Council warning as collection dates changing for Easter

Bin collections in Lisburn Castlereagh will be later than usual over the Easter period, the council has warned.

The change in dates will also impact on recycling centres and wheelie box collections.

Collections due for Good Friday, April 2, will happen as scheduled, with no change to the itinerary.

However, Easter Monday collections for normal bins and kerbies have been moved to April 3.

People have also been advised that collections due on Tuesday, April 6 will now be collected on Saturday, April 10.

All recycling centres across the district will be closed on Easter Monday and Easter Tuesday. Sites will open as normal on Good Friday, the LCCC has confirmed.

Full table of details:

Usual collection date All bins All boxes
Friday April 2 (Good Friday) Normal collection Normal collection
Monday April 5 (Easter Monday) Saturday April 3 Saturday April 3

The Lisburn Castlereagh Council said: "In order to reduce the hand sorting of materials in your kerbie boxes or wheelie boxes by their staff can you please sort your recycling in the following way. The council also requested that residents keep up good recycling over the Easter period.

"If the materials are not sorted in this way during the current situation, containers will not be emptied."

The bin collection dates are also available on the council's website.
