Lisburn and Castlereagh Council offers rent relief to 23 organisations

Council tenants hit by Covid-19 can get a three-month rent holiday.

Lisburn and Castlereagh Council has offered rent relief to 23 organisations leasing their community and sport facilities.

Councillor Ryan Carlin, Corporate Service Committee chair, said: “With many people adapting to changes during the coronavirus pandemic as a council we are working hard to support our communities and businesses.

"However, we do not wish to place any added pressure on our tenants who have lost their capability to operate and generate an income at this time of emergency measures and guidance put in place by government.

“At times like this, it is important to show leadership and help our community through this unprecedented time."

Elligible tenants lease space at council's community or sporting facilities.
