Lisa Snowdon is to leave the Capital FM breakfast show.
Snowdon, who has co-hosted with Dave Berry and Johnny Vaughan for more than seven years, will leave at the end of next month.
“I’ve had a fantastic time waking up London and I’ve been very lucky to have worked with some of the most talented people in the business,” said Snowdon. “But after seven and a half years of getting up at 04.30, I hope people agree that I’ve earned a lie in! Now it’s time for my next big adventure.”
Snowdon was hired in 2008, when she was presenting Britain’s Next Top Model, to replace Denise van Outen who abruptly left just six months into her 12-month contract.
At the time, Capital’s London breakfast show was second to Neil Fox’s Magic, with an average weekly reach of 772,000 listeners between 6am and 9am.
The Capital breakfast show now has an audience of around 1 million listeners, second to Bauer’s Kiss by a margin of just 3,000 listeners.
“Lisa has been an absolutely brilliant presenter and a wonderful colleague and we all wish her every success in the future,” said Richard Park, group executive director at Capital’s parent company Global. “Lisa will be on Capital until the end of the year and will remain part of the Global family.”
