Lisa Simone is the daughter of the legendary singer Nina Simone. A singer-songwriter in her own right, she's also a leading lady on Broadway and a veteran of the Iraq War. RFI's SessionLab met her.
"I’m the daughter of a revolutionary who spent a lot of her time and energy, and sacrificed many things, standing up for the rights of people throughout the world," said Lisa Simone to SessionLab.
She was invited to the Rio Loco Festival in Toulouse, southwestern France, to premier Right Now, the first song of her new album Need of Love.
