Lisa Maffia rushed to hospital after being struck down with extreme pain

Lisa Maffia is battling extreme pain in hospital.

The So Solid Crew star, 42, was rushed to hospital and put on a morphine drip and told that it is due to her battling endometriosis and fibroids.

She took to her Instagram Stories on Tuesday to share an update with her fans.

"I thought I would update you I have endo and fibroids that is why I am always tired and sh*t," the musician said in a video.

She also uploaded a snap of a needle in her arm and wrote: "@nhsengland this is a madness, I’m on morphine for the pain but all 7 hours later no one has even spoken to me."

The singer then listed: "Fibrosis, Endometriosis, High white blood cells."

Endometriosis is a condition where tissue similar to the lining of the womb starts to grow in other places, such as the ovaries and fallopian tubes and fibroids are non-cancerous growths that develop in or around the womb, according to the NHS website.

In October, last year, Lisa opened up about having a cancer scare after she revealed abnormal cells had been found in her cervix.

During an appointment for a Colposcopy appointment, she said: "I had cancerous cells that needed to be burned away," said Lisa, whose mum has been diagnosed with terminal cervical cancer.

Lisa then told her followers that she 'never missed a smear test' before the abnormal cells were discovered and urged her fans to keep update to date with theirs.

"This is just a reminder to anyone that maybe has forgotten to get tested! It's not a game," she urged.

Following her hospital appointment, an emotional Lisa returned to Instagram where she said she had been 'petrified' but the process was 'quick and easy.'

Lisa explained the experience was made harder by the fact her mum is battling terminal cervical cancer.

Speaking from her car, Lisa told her followers, "Just like that I am already out. As you can see I was really upset..."

She tearfully continued: "My mum has cervical cancer, terminal cancer, so going into this every time I've had to go into this - this is the third time they've had to check my cells - makes me absolutely petrified."

The hitmaker said she wanted to share her news with fans to encourage others to keep updated with their smear tests and 'to be mindful of your health in general'.

"It can happen to anyone," she added.

In 2019 she in ITV All New Full Monty where she performed a strip-tease with a number of celebs to help raise cancer awareness.

Lisa said she was inspired to take part after seeing her mother's battle with cancer.

She recalled how her mum didn't go to a smear test appointment for five years, not realising that the disease was spreading throughout her body.

"In five years it had spread to her lymph node glands, collar bone, all of her cervix", she told iNews.

"Until she was diagnosed, she didn’t feel anything. The minute she knew, it tore her apart.”
