Lisa Fallon appointed first-team coach at Galway United

Lisa Fallon has been appointed first-team coach at Galway United where she joins forces with John Caulfield for a second time.

The Pro Licence holder was part of Caulfield’s staff at Cork City when they won the league and FAI Cup double in 2017.

Fallon was recently head coach of English Championship side London City Lionesses and also worked with Chelsea.

She also had stints with Michael O’Neill’s Northern Ireland team, Dublin’s senior men’s GAA team and has been a TV analyst for RTE.

Galway United boss Caulfield said: “Her time in England has transformed her into a top coach and has given her the understanding and belief to coach at this level.”

Fallon is the first female first-team coach in the club’s history and she said: “I understand there is significance to my appointment in that respect.

“It’s a very proud moment for my family but my focus is totally on the players and working with everyone here to make sure we are ready for pre-season."

Fallon added: “Galway United is a big club with huge potential. There are fantastic people here and I’m really excited about the plans.”
