Lisa Dingle's funeral takes Emmerdale fans on emotional rollercoaster

Emmerdale fans were left in floods of tears tonight as Lisa Dingle was laid to rest.

The iconic character was on the show for 23 years and tonight saw her devastated family and friends gather for her funeral.

Zak laid a blanket on Lisa's coffin as it was carried into the church, and when he was asked if he was OK, he said: "I have to be, don't I?"

Belle read a poem she had written especially for the occasion and she struggled through the emotional lines, bursting into tears at the end of it.

While Charity helped to give the Eulogy, with her telling the congregation that Lisa had given her demands for the funeral: dont blub, happy stories not sad ones, get bladdered and have a right proper knees up.

Charity said: "She meant the absolute world to me and we're all going to miss you, Lisa."

Lisa also had a final surprise up her sleeve after her death, which Charity happily revealed was a pig race!

And mourners even bet on the pig race.

One said: "Lisa Dingle, you bloody legend!"

Another said: "What a fitting send off for Lisa."

And a third said: "I love this funeral. It’s what Lisa would have wanted."

*Emmerdale continues tomorrow at 7pm on ITV
