Lisa Armstrong mocks Piers Morgan as she apologises for throwing his book out

Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan had an update on the book drama from Tuesday's episode, after speaking with friend Lisa Armstrong.

Ant McPartlin's ex-wife Lisa was accused by the host of chucking his book, The Insider, out onto the street.

After apparently having a clear out, the make-up artist is said to have left some items no longer wanted in boxes in the street, for passers by to take.

One item was Piers' book, and on Tuesday he claimed he was "hurt" by his friend's betrayal.

He decided to "shame" her on the show, with Lisa quickly messaging him about it.

Piers Morgan showed a clip from his pal and make-up artist Lisa Armstrong on GMB (ITV)

But on Wednesday, she mocked him as she addressed the hilarious incident in a clip which was played on air.

Lisa was working on her new make-up line when she was told about the drama unfolding, with Piers devastated.

She quickly apologised for the upset caused, before joking she was too famous for him now.

Lisa said: "Hi Piers, it's Lisa. Really sorry for what happened yesterday about the book in the box outside my house.

"Slightly awkward, but as you can see I've got my own sofa now and my name up in lights.

"So it is what it is, bye!"

Piers laughed off the video, before claiming he made her famous, before suggesting the same about co-stars Ranvir Singh and Susanna Reid.

Susanna joked: "Was Lisa using it as an opportunity to promote her new make-up brand?"

Piers responded: "Do you think by any chance Lisa has just done a big deal with Avon?"

He then said: "Everyone around me, the stardust just spreads out and you all become more famous.

"Lisa was a humble, shy and tiring make-up artist and now Lisa is an Avon star."

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
