Lip-reading fans are convinced that cameras caught Jimmy Garoppolo ripping Kyle Shanahan’s play calls

Sunday night’s loss to the Denver Broncos was a beyond frustrating effort for the San Francisco 49ers. In their first game since Trey Lance went down with a season-ending leg injury, Jimmy Garoppolo was tasked once again with leading the Niners offense.

And, well, he did not seem to be on the same page with head coach Kyle Shanahan’s game plan. At least that’s what lip-reading fans think.

The Broncos essentially iced the game when Jonas Griffith picked off Garoppolo on a deflected pass to Deebo Samuel late in the fourth quarter. As Garoppolo was walking off the field, a close-up camera shot appeared to show him having words for Shanahan’s play calling.

The initial tweet of the video suggested that Garoppolo said, “All your plays suck, man.” And while the first two words are a bit unclear — he could have said “curl plays” possibly — it looked like Garoppolo was complaining about the play call regardless.

Garoppolo finished the game with 211 yards, a touchdown and that interception on 18 of 29 passing.

Fans, as you could expect, had plenty of thoughts on the lip-reading video.

This was how Twitter reacted

And it won’t get any easier with the Rams coming up next on the schedule.
