Lionsgate Television secures new deal with Gary Lennon for Power franchise.

Lionsgate Television has secured a new deal with Gary Lennon, the showrunner of Power Book IV: Force, ensuring his continued involvement in the Power franchise. This agreement will see Lennon leading the Starz series and working on developing additional extensions of the Power-verse. The announcement comes as Force enters production for its third season.

Kevin Beggs, Lionsgate Television group chair and chief creative officer, praised Lennon's significant contributions to the Power universe, expressing excitement about the ongoing partnership with Starz to create fresh and unexpected franchise extensions for Power enthusiasts.

Lennon's history with Lionsgate TV includes previous work on Orange Is the New Black and the original Power series before taking on the role of showrunner for Book IV. He has also been involved in projects like P-Valley and Hightown under the Starz and Lionsgate banner.

In response to the new deal, Lennon commended Lionsgate Television as an exceptional production partner, highlighting their unparalleled creative team and unwavering support in expanding the Power universe. He emphasized the studio's reputation as a nurturing environment for talent seeking to explore new creative avenues.

With an impressive resume as a writer and producer, Lennon has credits on acclaimed shows such as FX's Justified and The Shield. His work on Orange Is the New Black earned him an Emmy nomination and a Peabody award in 2014, while also receiving Writers Guild of America Awards nominations for OITNB and Justified.

Lennon is represented by CAA and attorney Erik Hyman, with the deal negotiation handled by Jonathan Kleinman on behalf of Lionsgate TV.
