Lions workout roundup: A familiar WR tries out and a Zach Zenner sighting

During the first day back in Allen Park following the bye week for the Lions, the team was busy working out free agent wide receivers.

One of them is a familiar name for college football fans in the Mitten State. Bennie Fowler, who played collegiately at Michigan State before beginning a 6-year career in the NFL, is a Detroit native. He played four years in Denver and spent the last two seasons in New York, starting seven games for the Giants.

The Lions also worked out Quincy Adeboyejo and Emmanuel Hall. None of the players were signed as of Wednesday morning.

Ex-Lions roundup

According to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle, former Lions RB Zach Zenner was in Tennessee for a workout with the Titans. It’s the third team Zenner has auditioned for since the Lions released him prior to the final roster cutdown.

A linebacker from last season, Eli Harold, worked out for the Colts. Indianapolis lost key EDGE rusher Kemoko Turay for the season in their win over the Chiefs.

The Packers worked out TE Cole Wick, who played for the Lions in 2016.
