Lions working out former Redskins WR Maurice Harris

The Detroit Lions players are gone for the bye week, but the coaching staff and front office are still hard at work in Allen Park.

Today, the Lions are working out wide receiver Maurice Harris. The team knows Harris well; he played for the Patriots over the summer and stood out during the joint practice sessions between the two teams in training camp. A foot injury ended his quest to make it with New England, but he has been cleared to play by a foot specialist, according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.

Harris (6-3, 205 pounds) played for the Washington Redskins for three seasons and was a starter for half of the 2018 campaign. He caught 28 passes for 304 yards last year. He was originally an undrafted free agent out of California.
