Lions Week 4 inactives: Slay, Amendola, Daniels and Hand all OUT

The Detroit Lions and Kansas City Chiefs have declared their seven inactives players for their Week 4 matchup at Ford Field.

Here are the Lions inactive players:

DL Mike Daniels (foot) — declared to OUT on Friday
DL Da’Shawn Hand
CB Darius Slay
WR Danny Amendola
RB Paul Perkins
OG Oday Aboushi
OG Beau Benzschawel

Reports from earlier today suggested Matthew Stafford (hip/back) would play, while Darius Slay (hamstring) and Danny Amendola (chest) would be game-time decisions. All three went through warm-ups and only Stafford proved able to play.

Losing Slay means an opportunity for Mike Ford to step up and rookie Amani Oruwariye will be active for the first time this season.

No Amendola opens up the door for newly promoted Tom Kennedy to get opportunities in the slot.

Without Mike Daniels or Da’Shawn Hand, the Lions only carry three interior defensive linemen — Damon Harrison, A’Shawn Robinson and Kevin Strong — and will more than likely ask Trey Flowers to take snaps inside to add more interior pressure.

To get a better understanding of how these moves impact the Lions, take a look at my comprehensive depth chart for Week 4.

The Chiefs have declared the following players inactive

LT Eric Fisher (groin) — OUT
WR Tyreek Hill (shoulder) — OUT
RB Damien Williams (knee) — OUT
OT Martinas Rankin
OT Greg Senat
C Nick Allegretti
DT Khalen Saunders
