Lions Week 1 injury report: No changes on Thursday

The Detroit Lions are just days away from their Week 1 game against the Arizona Cardinals, but their schedule is still in a bit of flux. Coach Matt Patricia said he wanted to stress the players mentally but give them a break physically and therefore today’s practice was just a walk-through.

A walk-through means all participation levels are based on projections, and unsurprisingly, the Lions identified the same key five players as limited participants: Jarrad Davis (MIKE LB, ankle), Da’Shawn Hand (DL, elbow), Rashaan Melvin (CB, knee ), Frank Ragnow (IOL, ankle) and Trey Flowers (DDE, shoulder).

Expectations should still be that Ragnow starts this week in Arizona, Flowers to be involved in a rotation at defensive end, while Davis and Hand sit out the game.

Melvin is the real wild card here because we didn’t know much about his injury before this week and he has not been doing much during the open portions of practice.

Tomorrow will be the last day the media gets a look at a Lions practice before Sunday and hopefully, we will be able to ascertain more information about the status of all five players.
