Lions Week 1 final injury report: Trey Flowers no injury designation for Sunday

The Detroit Lions have released their final injury report before making the trip to Arizona to take on the Cardinals in Week 1 of the 2019 regular season.

They will have four players carrying questionable designations on Sunday, but EDGE rusher Trey Flowers (DDE, shoulder) will not be one of them after returning to a Full practice on Friday. So, Flowers appears looks ready to go, the only question is: how much time on the field will he see?

Despite the extremely positive news, I still expect the Lions to exercise caution with their prized free-agent acquisition, and deploy a combination of Romeo Okwara — among others — to supplement his workload.

Frank Ragnow (IOL, ankle) looks on track to start on Sunday. He has practiced all week with the starters. Don’t let the questionable tag fool you, he’s going to play.

Rashaan Melvin (CB, knee) sat out most practice this week, but he returned to action on Friday and was a heavy participant during the portions of practice that were open to the media. The questionable tag likely indicates he will need a positive pre-game warm-up to be active, but he is trending in the right direction.

Da’Shawn Hand (DL, elbow) has been getting better seemingly every practice and today he began participating in individual drills. That is an encouraging sign but he may still be a ways away from returning to regular action. Don’t be surprised if he is ruled inactive come game day.

Jarrad Davis (MIKE LB, ankle) has been suited up this week, only observing the portions of practice open to the media. The injury expert we talked to after Game 3 of the preseason anticipated Davis sitting out though at least Week 3. Davis is reportedly traveling with the team, and the questionable tag is very encouraging, but don’t expect him to suit up this week.
