The Lions’ rebuild is underway after trading longtime quarterback Matt Stafford to the Rams on Saturday. They received two first-round picks, a third-rounder and former No. 1 overall pick Jared Goff.

It’s the first of many expected quarterback moves this offseason. The Bears were not expected to be in play for Stafford, but Goff could’ve been an option if he hadn’t gone to Detroit in the deal.

Stafford has been with the Lions since they drafted him first overall in 2009. In 20 career starts against the Bears, he went 11-9 with 32 touchdown passes, 23 interceptions and an 86.3 passer rating.

Goff had back-to-back Pro Bowl seasons with 100-plus passer ratings in 2017 and ‘18 and helped the Rams reach the Super Bowl in the 2018 season. Over the last two seasons, however, he has had an 88.1 rating.

He is 2-1 against the Bears with two touchdowns, five interceptions and a 59.7 passer rating.
