Lions starting offensive tackles have yet to allow a QB pressure in the preseason

And now for something completely unexpected…

Things have not gone well for the Lions offense this preseason, but don’t blame the starting offensive tackles. Taylor Decker and Rick Wagner have perfectly clean slates in pass protection in the three Detroit preseason games, according to Pro Football Focus.

What’s even crazier: reserve Kenny Wiggins has also not allowed a single QB pressure while playing tackle in the exhibition season. He’s had a rough go of things at guard, but while playing tackle Wiggins has been surprisingly adept at keeping QBs Josh Johnson and David Fales comfortable.

It’s a limited sample size, of course. Decker and Wagner have each played just 28 snaps in the three games and don’t figure to play against Cleveland in the preseason finale.
