Lions sneak out win vs. Giants to snap losing skid

After dropping their last three games, the Detroit Lions came away with a win on Sunday against the Giants, 31-26.

The win moves the Lions to 3-3-1 on the season, good for third in the NFC North.

It’s probably too early to say the Lions kept their playoff hopes alive, but falling to 2-4-1 would have been a real uphill battle for Detroit.

The Lions find themselves 1.5 games out of a playoff spot, which is certainly doable. Detroit has some winnable games left on its schedule as well, with games against the Raiders, Redskins, Bucs and Broncos on their schedule. Detroit also has two games against the Bears, a team that lost in brutal fashion on Sunday afternoon.

The site FiveThirtyEight gives the Lions, even with the win, just an 11 percent chance to make the playoffs. To round out the division, the Packers are at 85 percent, the Vikings are at 75 percent and the Bears are at eight percent.
