Lions sign Travis Fulgham to practice squad, release Frank Herron

The Detroit Lions announced they have signed wide receiver Travis Fulgham to practice squad and released defensive tackle Frank Herron in a corresponding move.

“Fulgham returns to Detroit after a previous stint on the Lions active roster earlier this season,” the Lions said in a press release. He originally entered the League with the Lions as a sixth-round draft pick (184th overall) in the 2019 NFL Draft.”

Fulgham flashed big-play potential in the preseason, but it was also clear he has a long way to go before he is able to regularly contribute, needing to clean up his technique and consistency. The potential is definitely there for the young playmaker and it wouldn’t be surprising to see him re-added to the active roster at some point during this season.

Herron was only on the Lions practice squad for 24 hours before being released, and in somewhat of an extended tryout, he has shown the team his value. If the Lions were impressed, he should sit high on their list of available free agent defensive lineman.
