The Detroit Lions announced they have signed free agent linebacker Tre Williams. The LB played collegiately at Auburn from 2014-17, starting 36 games.
At 6-2 and 235 pounds, the former Tiger is primarily an off-ball linebacker. He racked up 188 tackles in his four years, three of them as a primary starter.
Williams was not an active player in 2018 as he recovered from a shoulder injury suffered in the SEC title game in 2017. He spent the season as a recruiting assistant with Auburn.
Terms of the deal were not immediately disclosed.
