Lions sign CB Tarvarus McFadden, waive WR Deontez Alexander

The Detroit Lions have made a move at the bottom of the roster. Coach Matt Patricia announced at the start of his Sunday morning press conference the team has signed free agent CB Tavares McFadden.

McFadden is a 6-2 cornerback from Florida State who left early to jump in the 2018 NFL Draft. He spent most of his rookie year on practice squads in San Francisco and Indianapolis. He is a former 5-star recruit who had an up-and-down career for the Seminoles.

The Lions were in need of another CB for practice reps with Teez Tabor being day-to-day with an undisclosed injury.

To make room for McFadden, the team waived second-year wideout Deontez Alexander.
