Lions re-sign LB Steve Longa and DE Mitchell Loewen

The Detroit Lions have brought back two of their own defenders. The team announced linebacker Steve Longa and defensive end Mitchell Loewen have re-signed with the Lions. Both were exclusive rights free agents.

Longa is entering his fourth season with the Lions, though he has played sparingly. The inside backer missed the 2018 season after tearing his ACL in the preseason and spent the year on injured reserve. He played collegiately at Rutgers.

Loewen was claimed off waivers from the New Orleans Saints prior to Week 17. He played three games in his three-year career with the Saints after being an undrafted free agent from Arkansas.
