Lions meet with OL Nate Davis at Charlotte’s pro day

The pro day circuit kicked back in on Monday, and the Detroit Lions were once again busy on the scouting trail. One of the stops was in Charlotte for the 49ers prospects, and an offensive line prospect who the Lions previously met with at the Senior Bowl: Nate Davis.

Davis met with Lions OL coach Jeff Davidson at the workout, according to Draft Analyst’s Tony Pauline. The big man played tackle at Charlotte but projects as a right guard in the NFL, and that happens to be where the Lions have a vacancy up front.

From Pauline’s report on Davis’ workout:

Davis stood on his combine numbers but looked good in drills. He was explosive and very powerful, something he displayed in Mobile. Scouts like his versatility, as though he lined up at tackle for UNC-Charlotte, he projects to guard at the next level and is even getting consideration at center.

He is a Day Two consideration for the Lions.
