DETROIT — The Detroit Lions have placed linebacker Jarrad Davis on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
According to a statement released by the Lions, per NFL and NFLPA policy a team is not permitted to comment on a player's medical status other than referring to roster status and whether the player is in quarantine or is positive for COVID-19.
It's unclear what Davis' status is for Sunday's road game against the Minnesota Vikings.
Davis, a first-round pick in 2017, has seen his role greatly diminish this season. He started the first two games and played a majority of the defensive snaps in those games. Since then, he has served as a rotational player and hasn't played more than 27% of the snaps in the past five games.
Davis, who had 100 tackles in 2018, has 18 tackles and two forced fumbles this season.
In Sundays' 41-21 loss to the Indianapolis Colts, Davis played 14 defensive snaps and had one tackle.
If Davis can't play against the Vikings, linebacker Jalen Reeves-Maybin, who is primarily a core special-teams player, likely would replace him in the rotation.
