Lions-Jaguars still on schedule despite positive COVID-19 test in Jacksonville

Sunday’s game between the Detroit Lions and Jacksonville Jaguars will go on as scheduled despite a positive COVID-19 test within the Jaguars team.

The Lions are still traveling to Jacksonville on Saturday even after a Jaguars practice squad player tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday. The Jaguars are working remotely on Saturday and have no plans to postpone the catfight on Sunday.

Because the Lions have already had a bye week, rescheduling the game at such a late juncture would be very difficult.

Jacksonville released a statement on Saturday morning explaining the entire situation and indicating it’s game on in Duval on Sunday.

The game was originally set to be played in England at the home of soccer club Tottenham, but with international travel stopped the game was reset to Jacksonville over the summer.
