Lions hosting safety Andrew Adams on free agent visit

Per a report from Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press that was quickly confirmed by others, the Detroit Lions are hosting former Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Andrew Adams on a free agent visit.

Adams, 26, has starting experience with both the Buccaneers and New York Giants in his three years in the NFL. He has notched 88 career solo tackles and 5 INTs, including four last season in 13 games with the Bucs.

He played collegiately at UConn under current Lions defensive coordinator Paul Pasqualoni and showed enough as an undrafted rookie to start 13 games for the Giants in 2016.

Adams is at his best playing a deep, centerfielder-type role. The Lions did see him up close and personal during the joint practice sessions in Allen Park with the Giants last summer.
