Lions host Middle Tennessee State LB Darius Harris on official visit

Not every official visit of the 30 allotted to each NFL team gets used on high-level players. That’s the case with the Detroit Lions hosting linebacker Darius Harris from Middle Tennessee State this week.

Several sources confirm Harris was in Allen Park for a pre-draft visit with the Lions.

The Blue Raiders LB is not someone shown much attention in the draft media. At 6-2 and 238 pounds, he’s an outside backer who racked up tackles in Conference USA. Harris has some ability to blitz and closes quickly to the ball, but his 4.77 40-yard dash speed seems faster than he actually plays. He is regarded as a priority free agent and future NFL special teamer and reserve OLB.
