Eric Ebron admits his production could be better.
"It hasn't been the best," the Detroit Lions tight end said Tuesday. "But then again, it's early in the season and I can't be down upon myself. ... Ten games left and just go out there and play the rest of these 10 games and hopefully it all turns around for the offense entirely because not only my performance but all of us need to get it together and get it going."
Ebron has not had a good season. Ebron has 13 catches for 102 yards and one touchdown. That puts him on pace for 272 yards and three touchdowns.
Ebron's struggles reflect some of the struggles of the offense, which heads into the bye ranked 28th overall and 21st in passing in the NFL. Ebron has faith the offense can still be explosive.
"Of course," he said. "We have so much talent, we have so much talent. We're beat up, but then again I'll put our offense up against anybody.
"And I believe that we should make plays and hopefully what I'm saying reflects that when we come off the bye week because it really shows non-stop. We've seen it all OTAs, we've seen it, every practice you see it. We've just got to put it together when it comes to Sunday, Monday, Thursday, whenever we play."
As for Ebron, his plans for the bye include getting plenty of family time. He and his pregnant fiancee hope to welcome their child soon.
"I'm going to go be with my family and my future family," he said. "Hopefully something shakes this week, so I won't have to leave. That would ease my mind a little bit if this happens. But we'll see."
