Lions DL Da’Shawn Hand ruled out of Week 1 game vs. Cardinals

The Detroit Lions made a change to their final injury report on Saturday. After defensive lineman Da’Shawn Hand was listed as limited all week in practice with an elbow injury and questionable for the game against the Arizona Cardinals, he was downgraded.

He has been ruled out of the game, noted AZCardinals.com’s Darren Urban.

Hand is a backup defensive end to Trey Flowers, signed in the offseason.

Hand was a fourth-round pick in 2018 and appeared in 13 games as a rookie, starting eight. He had three sacks, two forced fumbles and 27 total tackles.

That will give the Lions very little depth off the edge when the Cardinals take on the Lions on Sunday.
