Lions check out QB Gardner Minshew, OT Andre Dillard at Washington State pro day

The pro day tour swung west to Pullman, Washington, the home of the Washington State Cougars. The Detroit Lions were among 28 teams represented at the indoor training facility, and the featured attractions are two players the team has already met with this offseason.

Quarterback Gardner Minshew is a Day 3 prospect with some intrigue and upside, not to mention a killer moustache. The Lions previously met with Minshew at the Senior Bowl, where they saw him throw. He did not work out at Washington State’s pro day but was actively encouraging his teammates as they participated.

The best of those is Andre Dillard, an offensive tackle often projected as a first-rounder. He’s quite skilled athletically and scored the highest pass protection grade among all FBS-level tackles from Pro Football Focus in 2018. The Lions drafted 2017’s PFF top-graded pass blocker, Tyrell Crosby, a year ago.
