Lionel Messi has scolded Barcelona fans for jeering Philippe Coutinho during the Champions League semi-final match against Liverpool.
The superstar netted twice at the Camp Nou on Tuesday against Jurgen Klopp's side, after Luis Suarez opened the scoring, with his first goal coming from a rebound off the crossbar before the Argentina international curled a stunning free-kick past Alisson to make it 3-0.
He admitted his sensational free-kick was "lucky" but was critical of fans for whistling former Reds star Coutinho .
"The goal from the free kick? It was spectacular, but I was lucky to have found the corner," Messi said.
"We could have also made the fourth goal, but we must be satisfied.
"However, it is not over yet: the return race is waiting for us. Liverpool is a team with so much physicality and in some situations, we have made a bit of effort."
Why there is still hope for Liverpool in Champions League after Barcelona defeat
Barca's win was soured slightly as Coutinho was whistled by his own supporters.
The Brazilian has struggled to settle since moving from Anfield in a £142million deal last January.
And Messi added: "The whistles at Coutinho? For me they are not right: we must all be united in order to win."
